Lynne Mizera

EMERGING ARTIST

Mentored By: Jessica Oliveras, Ardith Goodwin, Annette Rath, Chantel Barber, Jennifer Mercede, Howard Friedland

Lynne Mizera, a self-taught, mixed media artist, was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and was raised by an artist Mother. For most of her childhood she was surrounded by art, artists and the smell of paint and turpentine and early on she learned to see the world through an artist’s eyes. Creative all her life it was when she turned 50 that she finally allowed herself to paint, and once she started she has never stopped. She has spent the last 10 years honing her craft and developing her own unique style and her paintings are impressionistic and full of joyful color and simple shapes. Rather than painting a perfect replica of an image she tries to capture the essence of the image by conveying the emotion behind it. Lynne is currently working on a series of female faces, painted in her own unique style, focusing on capturing the inner soul of each woman through the expressive eyes. Lynne now lives in the Kootenay mountains in beautiful Creston, British Columbia, Canada with her husband and spends her days working as a full-time artist in the wonderful art studio he created for her.
