Canadian Artist Brenda Matsen is passionate about creating realistic artwork of people and animals in their natural environments. Brenda is a signature status member of Pastel Artists of Canada. Her coloured pencil work has won international awards with artwork featured in art magazines and juried into national and international online shows in multiple mediums. Brenda resides in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. Originally from northern British Columbia, growing up on a farm and living in the north fostered her passion for observing animals and people in the environment they live, work and play in. Brenda enjoys creating realistic portraits of people and animals using various mediums.
