We're inviting YOU for some laid-back fun, so grab your favorite drink, pick up those brushes, and let's PAINT TOGETHER! Whether you're an experienced artist or just starting, it's an opportunity to just bask in the JOY OF CREATING alongside fellow artists!
This event is all about capturing the beauty of STILL LIFE FLORALS. Lorraine will be showing us how to set up a still life, and Cindy will be painting from her imagination - perhaps inspired by Lorraine’s setup.
Paint from Lorraine’s still life, or set up your own to paint from. Feel free to just paint from your imagination, too!
Some items that make a great still life: Fresh or silk flowers, one of your favorite vases, a handmade or colorful bowl, a small animal figurine, your favorite book, small trinkets that you have around your studio - use your imagination. Lorraine suggests setting up a light that can be used to create dramatic shadows.
Here’s what you can expect:
- A vibrant still life with flowers and other intriguing objects, set up by our mentors!
- Choose to paint directly from their setup, or get creative and arrange your own captivating still life right in your studio!
- The goal? To paint freely and unselfconsciously!

Meet Lorraine Watry
Watercolor Master
I paint a variety of subjects, but a theme of reflective, shiny objects runs throughout a lot of my watercolors. Reflective objects like water, glass, and metal hold a fascination for me and I am drawn to the unusual, abstract shapes that are often in realistic subjects. These abstract shapes are a nice counterpoint to a bird, band instrument, or waterlily.
I tend to paint a series of the same subject over time and I have now painted quite a few birds in water, waterfalls, and waterlilies.
I enjoy showing the beauty of nature in these brief moments in time.
Meet Cindy Revell

It’s been a marvellous odyssey of learning, change, success, failure, agents, galleries, and exploration all fired by my deep passion for art. I bring that fire for art to my mentorship groups. You’ll learn ways to explore your imagination and bring those ideas to your art along with the step-by-step approach I take to creating my whimsical work. If you’re a realist you’ll learn how to make things ‘not real’. And if you’re in it just to explore and expand your repertoire of skills and energize your artistic spirit, then you’ll be in the perfect group! You’re about to reach beyond what you think is possible with your art.
There’s more! We’ll talk about a methodical approach to getting your work out there and building a collector base. In my own practice, I’m re-evaluating trending marketing methods and questioning if they really suit me and I’m looking at ways to streamline and personalize marketing to suit my personality. How does one handle marketing methods that feel a bit sleazy? Is there a way to market that feels better? I think so. I’ll share that with you too!
The key skills I teach are applicable to any style and subject matter. Join me, I’ll tell you everything I can in our time together.
