Meet Anne Kullaf

I’m really excited to be mentoring Aspiring Artists! You are at the very beginning of your creative journey and I am honored to be a part of that process. In my group, the focus will be on building the technical skills you need to acquire confidence in your work. Doing so will allow your unique style to emerge naturally as we work together over time. Participants may work in the medium of their choice. I have taught a wide variety of drawing and painting mediums and will share technical expertise based on the individual needs of the group members.
Our sessions will be spent sharing knowledge through guided practice and constructive feedback. From time to time, I will do live demonstrations as appropriate for the group’s needs. I will emphasize attention to form, value, composition, color, and gesture. Drawing is an essential skill for all artists to have regardless of their medium or style–if you can draw, you can do anything! So many artists I’ve taught have lacked confidence in their drawing skills. There will be assignments that focus on perspective, proportion, and value mapping.
Throughout the mentorship, I will pay close attention to each member’s individual needs in terms of artistic development. I will offer customized guidance, suggestions, and critique to assist you in overcoming any obstacles or frustrations that may arise. I hope to positively influence your newly begun journey into the experience of being an artist! art instructor and lecturer, hosting workshops and sessions across Canada.
