MEDIUM: Acrylic | Assemblage Art | Mixed Media | Quilting | Textiles | Watercolor
SPECIALTY: ✔ Technique ✔ Business

My mentorship group will focus on finding your true personal voice/style. How to do this individually. Removing the fear of failure, enjoying the process, doing what makes you happy. Learning how to use color and value to make striking artwork. Realize that perfection is not the goal, pleasing yourself is. Hard work and consistent work and passion will serve you the best.

My honesty and straight forward approach will help you follow the path to successful art, be it for yourself or for others. Help members identify their goal and guide them to achieving them. Honest individual critiques.

I make art because I have to, in one way or another I love to create. With my art I feel like I am saving memories. My art is based on a memory of things that means a lot to me. I strive for abstraction by simplification.

I have been working with cloth since I was a small child and it hasn’t lost its luster, actually probably my passion for it has increased. I have brought fabric and paint together, either by dyeing the cloth or painting it and then stitching.

Pat Bishop is an artist who works with fabric, thread and a sewing machine and often watercolor and acrylic paints. Her artwork is an expression of her view and appreciation of nature.

As a midwestern descendant of farmers she is an inherent problem solver, with the need to use it up, fix it, make it work or repurpose it. Currently she is pursuing simplification in her work. Subjects she gravitates toward are trees, birds and broken down buildings, but with an abstracted view.

Her artwork has been exhibited nationally and internationally and won numerous awards in fine art venues and prestigious fiber art exhibits. She has published articles in Quilting Arts Magazine Winter 2023 and Art Quilting Studio Spring 2024, and recently taped a segment for

Pat sells her work, teaches, mentors and lectures. See her website or email for more information.
