SPECIALTY: ✔ Critiques, ✔ Composition, ✔ Technique, ✔ Demos
I’m a painter living in Atlanta, Georgia. My work utilizes a full color spectrum to form dynamic light on the surface of my subject matter. I utilize fragmented shapes to create colorful and volumetric paintings that focus on the human form and nature.
My paintings are covered in layers of geometric shapes that are filled with intense color. Placing each fragment in key locations, I create the effect of kaleidoscopic form. The flat stacks of paint combine to create visual unity and movement. I primarily work on wood and paper, but any surface that is smooth and has a hard backing works best for my technique. My paintings bring together my love of color and volume, and my interest in the surreal and abstract.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST
I choose to paint from observation as well as from the imagination because I enjoy exploring the boundaries between realism and fantasy. I create surreal narratives that focus on the human form as well as animals. I find that they offer the most interest for me when it comes to storytelling, and I’m always fascinated by the shapes their forms create.
I’m originally from Idaho but have lived most of my professional life in California and China. I love to travel and meet other artists. Currently my favorite country I’ve spent time in is Kyrgyzstan.
