MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST

Lana Cease

Holly Hunter Berry’s transition to a full-time artist began after years in various non-art-related fields, including accounting, interior design, property management, and real estate. Her passion for creating ultimately drove her to leave these careers and pursue her purpose as an artist. Holly studied under several master painters in addition to formal academic training, which has resulted in a decades-long career in fine art.

Representationalist, impressionist, colorist, and expressionist are a few of the “ist” terms that have defined her work at various times. Despite the variety in her style, Holly’s work consistently aims to capture the beauty of her surroundings, often through the use of exaggerated colors and textures that draw viewers into her unique vision. She continues to grow and push herself to explore new approaches.

She teaches weekly classes and periodic workshops, focusing on demystifying the painting process. Holly believes in the importance of a strong foundation of art theory while also nurturing the personal intuition that each artist brings to their work. Her teaching method balances these elements, helping students grow and find their own artistic voices. In addition to teaching, Holly frequently gives demonstrations for art groups and serves as a judge at various art shows.

Holly can be found in her Studio/Gallery located in the Houston, TX area where you can see her paintings and take one of her many classes or workshops. She is dedicated to her art and her community and continues to be enthusiastic about sharing in ways that reflects her passion for creating purposeful paintings. To her, creating is as important as breathing and her excitement can be contagious!
