What you will learn in this mentorship

• This Mastrius mentorship group is where I work with artists live, structured similarly to my Gateway to Galleries training. The focus here is readiness. After 13 years reading submissions on the gallery side, I have watched talented artists lose opportunities by missing key elements in their submissions. In this group, I help artists think differently about communication with galleries, replacing assumption and dread with a clear sense of what a curator is actually looking for.
• The group sessions follow the Artist Path, the same five stages with milestones from my G2G training: Creator, Organized, Connected, Exhibited, and Represented. Our main focus will be on the Organized, Connected, and Exhibited Stages, as this is where most artists lack the most readiness.

Mentorship Focus

1. I will review and make sure everyone knows their current stage on the artist path.
2. After you know your current stage(s), we will know what milestones to work on next. For instance, if you are on the Organized stage, and we are discussing the Exhibited stage in the next session, you can see what’s ahead for you. If you are Exhibited for example, and we are working on the Connected stage, this will be your review to fill in gaps that should be completed before moving along the path further.
3. Mindset is a big part of gallery communications. Learning what rejection and lack of response actually means.
4. You will learn directly from a gallery owner what the thought process is behind selecting artworks.
5. You will also learn what NOT to do when approaching galleries for representation.

How This Mentorship Works

• Live online small-group mentorship
• Monthly two-hour session with your mentor where you’ll receive feedback, teaching, and personal support from your mentor
• Mentor assigns homework so you can practice the skills you’re learning and get feedback on your results
