What you will learn in this mentorship

• This mentorship is intended to meet you where you’re at in your artistic Journey. You will be strengthening foundation principles, and using them to practice advanced techniques. The primary goal is to provide you with the information you need to get the results you want. In other words how to realize your artistic intent. You will be encouraged to replace the fear of mistakes with the courage to explore and a willingness take chances. Sometimes “mistakes” are where the magic happens.
• This group will be kept to five artists or less to allow for more individual attention.
• Composition is where we’ll start. It is one of the most meaningful and versatile tools we have. We will build on the idea that contrast equals interest. Contrast can be as simple and bold as a black dot on a white ground or as complex as subtle value and color changes that lead the eye through a crowded city street. This range should accommodate a variety of artistic interests. It also allows each artist to step into the mentorship at their own level and pursue individual direction. Understanding principles of composition can increase confidence by allowing the artist to make informed decisions during every stage of their drawing or painting.

How This Mentorship Works

• Live online small-group mentorship
• Monthly two-hour session with your mentor where you’ll receive feedback, teaching, and personal support from your mentor
• Mentor assigns homework so you can practice the skills you’re learning and get feedback on your results
• Meet mid-month with your group for informal connection
• Private group chat between sessions
