Meet Marney-Rose Edge
Acrylic | Charcoal | Drawing | Oil | Watercolor
“My work is anchored by the fragility in nature. Expressed through the fleeting colors of a landscape, the tender beauty of petals and the complex textures from natures architects.
I invite you to explore my expression of a beautiful, fragile world.
Being a master of different mediums, it is my creative expression that dictates my choice. I work in watercolor, or charcoal or oils. Gently caressing them in many layers, creating depth and dimension within each painting. My color palette has a base of 12 colours which can vary or be extended, depending on the subject.”
Marney-Rose Edge is a Vancouver based artist who paints fragility. finding the beauty with an air of romance. It is her true mastery that make her paintings come alive. Although Edge is well known for her watercolors, oils and charcoal have become an important part of her creative process.
Her subject matter over the years has included florals, nests, seascapes, animals, and landscapes. The subject suggests the choice of medium. She added cold wax medium to her oils in 2019 and because it is a very fun medium, she wanted to share that joy by adding it to her teaching roster.
In 2024 she was selected to join the prestigious artist residency in France at Chateau Orquevaux for 2 weeks.
Marney-Rose has appeared on the cover of International Artist Magazine, with a 10 page feature article. Her work has been featured in the highly-acclaimed series of Splash books, the Best of Watercolour and Acrylic works, The Best of Acrylics, as well as receiving many other awards. In 2020 she was featured on Stella’s Studio a television show out of Toronto.
She is a Signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, serving on the Board of Directors for a number of years. Edge is an Elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists and an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour.
Meet Richard Gallego
Oil | Gouache | Acrylic | Graphite
Richard Gallego has been painting the landscape since 1996. His love of nature has taken him from Arizona’s Canyon de Chelly to the beaches of Hawaii. From the rivers, gorges, and adobes of New Mexico to the glaciers of Alaska and so many places in between, all in search of the scenes he loves to paint. Referring to his obsession with painting as “my magnificent affliction”, he is constantly searching for ways to reveal the natural world to others through paint. Rich teaches plein air workshops in Southern California, has taught workshops for Cloudcroft Art Workshops in New Mexico, and for eight years, taught workshops for the Taos Art School in New Mexico.
He was twice juried into the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association’s “Best of Plein Air” show. He has been featured in several articles on “Outdoor Painter” and appeared as a featured artist in “American Art Collector” magazine. Rich has been represented by several galleries in California and Wyoming. He has been a faculty member for the annual Plein Air Convention and Expo in Santa Fe, NM twice, for PACE23 in Denver, and PACE25 in Reno/Lake Tahoe. He has appeared several times as a guest on “Art School Live With Eric Roades”, has been an invited artist for the annual “Plein Air Live” event twice.
