• If we can see clearly the beauty in our world, and we have a strong desire to represent it well, yet we feel something hindering us, we need only to pause and reflect that it could just be a bit of lacking in technique.

• In these mentoring sessions, I will meet you at your level of ability, guiding you with good, solid, basic knowledge that stems from beginner concepts, right through to advanced techniques. Our mentoring sessions will be all about positivity, helping you grow to be an amazing artist.
• Just how did the Old Masters paint so well? Of course they studied, but they were also surrounded by positive, influencing sources – other fellow, amazing artists!
• In this environment, you will have a path to success as I share some of the Secrets of the Masters.

Mentorship Focus

1. First, you will be encouraged to develop a positive mindset for yourself! Becoming a good painter begins in your beautiful mind. I will encourage you to think well of yourself.
2. You will grasp seemingly advanced level techniques even if you feel you’ve not painted long enough to consider yourself advanced. Master-level ideas start with very simple concepts, and that is why it works to share with you all levels of technique while you are learning.
3. I will hone your already innate abilities, as you see beauty, and, together, we will learn how to represent it in a way that results in engaging and compelling paintings.
4. Why can’t we dissolve the mysterious of say, chiaroscuro? That elusive way paintings look as though objects emerge from the shadows in a Still Life? Together, in comfortable, encouraging sessions, we will unravel how to gently “lose” edges in a landscape and crisply and warmly define sun-filled meadows together as we tackle Landscape.
5. That you can think as did Michelangelo did, that painting and sculpting are very close mediums! I will help you become as excited as I am as I discover form in the way to use paint to lift darker values to reveal lighter ones, so that we will feel we are tracing our brush over three dimensions, working as we are, in only two. Let’s become truly excited about each aspect of painting, we tackle, rejecting our limitations, forging ahead with confidence!
