Dusti Gomery

EMERGING ARTIST

Mentored By: Joe Cunningham, Rosalie Dace, Helene Farrar, Mark Thompson

Dusti is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in the Drumheller valley, in Alberta, Canada. Drawing inspiration from the world around her, Dusti fearlessly pushes the boundaries of her art, continually experimenting with new techniques, materials, and concepts, often combining disciplines together. With each piece, Dusti invites viewers to embark on a journey of exploration and discovery, encouraging them to see the world through a new lens and to embrace the beauty that can be found everywhere. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, her art serves as a beacon of hope, reminding us of the transformative power of creativity and the boundless potential that lies within us all.

Notes: As an artist I find endless inspiration in the ever-changing rhythms of nature, in particular during spring, with its vibrant bursts of colour and renewed vitality. Growing up, one of my most favourite signs of spring were the delicate blossoms that carpeted the crabapple tree we used to have at the top of our driveway. With this small series of thread painted apple blossoms, I invite viewers to join me in celebrating the arrival of this season, and to pause and marvel at the wonders of nature unfolding around us.
