I am a quiet person with a heart is full of artistic passion. My work expresses a love of natural ambient light, and uses pattern and colour to both reflect on and play with realism. I love painting outdoors en plein air. I use the plein air pieces and my memories as the points of departure for larger landscapes. I have painted quite a bit in oils but I’m now working more in gouache for its versatility and colour quality. My recent floral series uses collage elements with gouache paint. It started in the wintertime as a means of celebrating the sunlight and fragile beauty of indoor flower bouquets. I also create self-portraits that have a mysterious symbolic quality. I have shown my work in Ottawa with the Foyer and Electric Street Galleries. I enjoy creating Instagram reels showing my artistic process.
