SPECIALTY: ✔ Technical ✔ Creative Process & Mindset
I approach painting as a spiritual practice, creating meditative landscape paintings from memory and imagination. These invented landscapes use clouds as
protagonists and symbols of impermanence while the land acts as an eternal counterbalance. Rather than being a recording of a specific place at a particular time of day, the paintings refer to a metaphysical version of ‘a place in time’ and are intended to connect the viewer to broad contemplations that simultaneously transcend the temporal world and root into it.

Group Focus
This mentorship group is designed for artists seeking to strengthen both the technical and intuitive sides of their practice. Together, we’ll build solid skills in painting fundamentals—composition, value, palette setup, limited and full palette approaches, and monochromatic block-ins—while also exploring advanced concepts and practices. At the same time, we’ll invite intuitive processes into the work: painting as discovery, embracing risk, and cultivating practices that expand creative voice and vision.
The group will also address professional development and mindset—creating a coherent body of work, optimizing studio workflow, preparing for exhibitions or online sales, and navigating the commission process. We’ll work through artist’s block, self-doubt, and other challenges that often arise in creative practice, while also building the tools to write about your work, share it online, and articulate your unique path forward.
Through critique, guided discussion, and individualized support, this mentorship offers a space to balance discipline and freedom—developing strong technical foundations while cultivating a more intuitive, personal, and authentic way of painting.
I take mentorship relationships seriously and have a genuine investment in the creative well-being of the people I work with. I genuinely love supporting working artists of all skill and career levels in finding their singular creative voice, providing time and space to listen to mindset issues that every working artist encounters and struggles with, and doing so in the context of building a body of work.
You Will Learn:
• To build a strong foundation of skills
• To balance skill building with intuitive painting practices
• To stay connected and accountable to your creative practice
• How to get good at practicing practice
MORE ABOUT THE ARTIST
privilege of working with students of all skill levels, teaching painting, drawing, figure drawing, figure painting, and plein air workshops in settings ranging
from university classrooms to local parks; large groups to personalized mentorships. I consider teaching both a calling and a passion. I approach it with
humility, mindfulness, and empathy, always with the intention of clearing obstacles from a student’s path so they can move further toward their own
singular creative voice. Over the last five years, I’ve started to build educational programming under the heading of STUDIOWORK. Here in this building, in
downtown Easton, Pennsylvania, I’ve made a home-base for this work with a gallery space, a teaching space, and work space—and I’m so thankful for every
minute I get to do what I love for a living here.
