What you will learn in this mentorship

Your art is important. It is so much more than how well you draw or your color choices. Skills are necessary and can be and must be learned. But your art practice is more important as you grow in your skills.

A musician practices before every performance. How are you practicing? What are you drawn to in subject matter? What are you curious about in learning new techniques?

What lights you up? What do you love doing?

All mediums and all subject matter are welcome. What we will be discussing underlies all creative arts. There are principals like harmony and contrast and elements like shape and color. How do you use this knowledge to your advantage? We will discuss how to choose colors. How to add textures. How to assess your use of value and contrast to add energy to your work.

We will be exploring all the many ways to give yourself a vital art practice that will help you create work you love.
