• In this group, we will explore the beauty of “loose” watercolor painting. We will focus on capturing the light and energy of a subject rather than just the small details.
• I will teach you my favorite “wet-into-wet” techniques, which I use to create soft, flowing floral arrangements and vibrant landscapes.
• We will practice painting from life to understand natural light, but we will also learn how to use reference photos as a strong starting point for our own unique creative vision.
• Our goal is to help you find your own artistic voice while gaining more control over this fluid medium.
• We will discuss important technical skills like paper saturation, edge control, and color contrast to make your work stand out. I also encourage the use of unique tools, such as large powder makeup brushes for soft washes and Chinese calligraphy brushes for detail. Whether you want to improve your floral paintings or learn to capture mood in a landscape, this group is a supportive place to grow your skills and build your confidence as an artist.

1. The “Wet-into-Wet” Technique: How to properly saturate paper and manage moisture to create soft, glowing, and expressive watercolor washes.
2. Mastering Floral Composition: How to paint fresh floral arrangements “from life” to capture the natural light, energy, and movement of the flowers.
3. The “Dialogue of Dust and Water”: How to work specifically in watercolor or soft pastel, and how to successfully combine them for rich, textured results.
4. Professional Edge Control and Contrast: Technical skills to help you guide the viewer’s eye and create a strong sense of depth in your paintings.
5. Using Unique Professional Tools: How to use non-traditional tools, like large powder makeup brushes and Chinese calligraphy brushes, to achieve special effects and textures.
