What you will learn in this mentorship

• This mentorship group will focus on improving technical skills and the ability to develop non-representational art. We will learn about defining the energy levels of the different styles of abstraction, how to pace yourself through the creative process, and how to recognize the different stages in the development of a painting. The group will discuss and demonstrate the usage of materials and tools used in creating a painting. We will discuss the different ways an artist resolves problems in their artwork and how to cope when in a creative rut.
• I believe in the personal growth and development of an artist and the need to satisfy one’s curiosity. In this group, I want to understand each artist’s goals and where they feel challenges exist in their practice. As artists make the leap into selling and exhibiting their work, a lot are challenged with how to market and price their work, managing their time to be more effective, and how to utilize social media to their advantage. I will encourage discussion on these topics of professional development during our monthly meetings as I think it is necessary in establishing and committing to one’s artistic goals.

How This Mentorship Works

• Live online small-group mentorship
• Monthly two-hour session with your mentor where you’ll receive feedback, teaching, and personal support from your mentor
• Mentor assigns homework so you can practice the skills you’re learning and get feedback on your results
