What you will learn in this mentorship
- Jean’s mentorship group offers a highly personalized, supportive environment tailored to your individual goals. Instruction is shaped by the needs and requests of participants and may include detailed critiques, technical discussion, and demonstrations focused on colour, composition, edge, line, texture, and perspective. Our sessions explore wide-ranging subject matter — from people and portraits to still life, landscape, abstraction — and any style or medium is welcome, including oil paint, watercolor, mixed media and referential imagery. Jean is skilled at helping artists evaluate their strengths and weaknesses, teaching self-critique, and guiding unique creative voice. We support each other in the personal artistic direction each member shares — no matter your subject, style, or path. In between sessions, you may receive personal homework designed to stretch your capacity and stay aligned with your goals. Join us to grow technically, creatively, and to gain both inspiration and encouragement in a collaborative setting.
Mentorship Focus
- How to strengthen your artwork through constructive critiques and self-evaluation.
- Ways to explore and apply design elements (color, composition, edge, line, texture, and perspective) in your work.
- Techniques and approaches for a wide range of subjects, from portraits and still life to landscape, abstraction, and mixed media.
- How to develop and express your own artistic voice while staying true to your personal direction.
- Practical assignments and discussions that push you to grow, stay motivated, and meet your creative goals.
How This Mentorship Works
- Live online small-group mentorship
- Monthly two-hour session with your mentor where you’ll receive feedback, teaching, and personal support from your mentor
- Mentor assigns homework so you can practice the skills you’re learning and get feedback on your results
- Meet mid-month with your group for informal connection
- Private group chat between sessions
