WORKSHOP Description
I will demonstrate beginning a still life of fruit and flowers from direct observation. The opening of the painting will be made using a chromatic palette. I will discuss seeing tone, choosing surfaces or ‘supports’, scale or size, palette reduction and extension, compositional tools and mark making methods. I will briefly mention some favourite examples of still life painting from the past.
The workshop is for painters who love colour and want to try painting from life.
