What you will learn in this mentorship

• In this supportive mentorship group we cover a variety of topics around cultivating a stimulating and productive art practice that is geared towards supporting creative growth and career development.
• Meetings and assignments include art-making prompts, selective readings for group discussions, supportive art crit time and more deeply exploring the meaning of our artwork through a variety of reflective exercises. Instructional materials include live demonstration and group art-making time, slideshow presentations and monthly topic presentations that include a spectrum subject that include but are not limited to color theory & visual perception, painting techniques, artist statement writing, art submission process, marketing strategies, and materials and artwork management.
• Many artists in this group are painters that also work in a variety of mediums. In this mentorship group, we are currently focused on studying color, pictorial space and visual perception as means to evaluate and better understand our own work.

2. Ways to strengthen your artwork through prompts, critiques, reflective exercises, and group discussions.
3. Core skills in color theory, pictorial space, and visual perception to evaluate and improve your work.
4. Practical tools for writing artist statements, preparing submissions, and applying marketing strategies.
5. Techniques, demos, and presentations that expand your skills across painting and other mediums.

How This Mentorship Works

• Live online small-group mentorship
• Monthly two-hour session with your mentor where you’ll receive feedback, teaching, and personal support from your mentor
• Mentor assigns homework so you can practice the skills you’re learning and get feedback on your results
• Meet mid-month with your group for informal connection
• Private group chat between sessions
