THE FOUNDERS

Mastrius was founded by husband-and-wife team Julie and Mike deBoer with a shared conviction: people grow and thrive best within the context of meaningful relationships.

While many e-learning platforms offer cheap and readily available content, Mastrius focuses on something deeper and more valuable: relationship-based learning.

In a world increasingly shaped by AI automation and impersonal, one-size-fits-all education, Mastrius is leading a new wave of connection-based learning, where mentorship is personal, connection is meaningful, and growth happens within a unique small group model.

The goal is not only to give people what they want – access to world-class experts – but to give them what they need: meaningful connection, access to real, human mentors, and a safe place to grow, so they can pursue their calling, their dreams, and the work they were made to do.

Together, Mike and Julie have seen and experienced how isolation quietly erodes confidence, creativity, and purpose. They’ve also witnessed and experienced the power of mentorship and supportive community and how it unlocks extraordinary growth in a person’s life.

Mastrius was built to create a safe place for that growth to happen.

At its core, Mastrius exists to bring creatives out of isolation and into community, where they can connect with experienced master artist mentors, build meaningful friendships in their small groups, and pursue their gifts and talents.

Julie and Mike’s vision is rooted in their faith. They believe every person is made in the image of God – to create and connect. Everyone is born with gifts and talents, and a fulfilled life is one where those can be pursued, developed, and celebrated – for the good of the individual, the community, and the world.

Art builds bridges between people, cultures, and faiths. It heals hearts, mends division among societies, and impacts generations. But artists cannot do their best work alone. In fact, no one can. 

Mike and Julie’s vision goes far beyond art.

Their greater vision is to bring the Mastrius small-group mentorship model into many industries. Whether in corporate leadership, sports, fashion design, tech, photography… people learn better, grow faster, and find meaning best in the context of supportive relationships, meaningful mentorship, and connection that is human and real, not fake, automated, or transactional.

PRESIDENT | FOUNDER | Chief Artist In Residence

After successfully building a career as a professional, internationally collected artist, Julie recognized a massive gap in her industry and founded Mastrius in the fall of 2020. Four short years later, Mastrius has equipped and launched thousands of creatives and grown the Mastrius community and brand into 46 countries and counting. 

Julie is the President, CMO, Chief Artist in Residence, and the face of Mastrius. She leads, inspires, and encourages the community from a place of humility and with a message of collaboration. “The artist journey is not a race to the top, it’s shoulder-to-shoulder, a journey where we go farther, faster, when we travel together.”

Julie wears many hats but under them all you’ll find a joyful, intuitive, and deep-welled person with a heart for people. She’s passionate and intentional about purpose-driven living and removing barriers that prevent not just creatives, but all people, from nurturing their gifts and passions, to find success and ultimately joy.

With that in mind, she intents to lead Mastrius into many industries, to democratize education, to make Master Mentorship accessible for all, to fuel collaboration and connection as the path to success and better living in a world of disconnection.
