Community Create and Chat: Studio Set-Up

We’re opening the studio doors!

Big or tiny studio, spare bedroom, basement corner or kitchen table, every artist finds a way to make their creative space work for them.

Mentors and members are invited to show off their creative spaces and share the little things they’ve discovered that make their studios work for them.

How do you store your supplies? Where do you put all those finished pieces? What’s always within arm’s reach? And what clever solution have you come up with that another artist might wish they’d thought of years ago?

There’s no perfect studio set-up, and sometimes the best ideas come from seeing how someone else works with the space they have.

We’ll chat about:

• Making the most of small or shared creative spaces
• Storage ideas for art supplies, tools and materials
• Organizing works in progress and finished artwork
• Lighting, work surfaces and other studio essentials
• Favourite studio tools, furniture and organizational finds
• Things you’ve changed in your studio over time — and why

And we want to see YOUR studio!

Bring along a photo of your creative space or give us a quick virtual tour. It doesn’t need to be spotless, magazine-worthy or even technically a “studio.” We want to see the real spaces where the work gets made.

Come snoop around other artists’ studios, share your own solutions and leave with some fresh ideas for making your creative space work a little better for you.

Bring your coffee, your art supplies, your questions, and your real-life experiences. Join us for an easy, supportive conversation that helps you feel grounded, connected, and ready to create!
