What makes a piece of art compelling and engaging?
In this open-forum community event, our mentors will share, teach, and answer your questions about the PRINCIPLES OF DESIGN: dominance, balance, contrast, gradation, variation, alternation, harmony, unity, and more.
Learn what each principle means and see examples of how they’re used in artwork to create masterful compositions! You’ll begin to recognize how design choices shape the way artwork is experienced.
This event will not be about memorizing rules. It’ll be about looking more closely, asking better questions, and noticing how artists use design to create focus, movement, balance, and impact.
Come ready to observe, reflect, and take part in the conversation. You’ll leave with a clearer eye for design and new ideas to consider in your own work.
