What you will learn in this mentorship

• My mentorship is centered on the transformative skill of “learning to see”- the process of cultivating a heightened sensitivity and discerning eye for the world around us. We will focus on the alla prima technique, working directly from life to interpret new visual challenges into the language of paint. By emphasizing a prompt and direct response to our subjects, we will learn how to capture the inherent beauty of direct experiences, moving beyond literal representation to create work that feels authentic and alive.
• In our sessions, we will break down the mechanics of representational painting, specifically focusing on the nuances of form, light, and color relationships. Drawing from my background in both fine art and graphic design, I help artists organize their initial ideas into strong, balanced compositions. This mentorship is for those who wish to move past mere virtuosity and instead pursue a “limitless technique” – one where constant growth in understanding leads to an endless accumulation of quality and artistic wisdom in every brushstroke.
