• The focus of this group is going to be to improve our understanding of fundamentals of representational fine art and painting from life.
• Mastering values, drawing, color temperature, chroma, edges, composition, overall harmony in the painting is essential to becoming a skilled painter.
• The fundamentals are the same across all subject matter, but for this group, we will talk about them in the context of still life and floral paintings.

1. Painting fundamentals – Drawing, Value, Color, Edges, Composition
2. Discussion on oil paints, brushes, painting knives, palette, background fabrics, and other studio supplies used in a floral still life painting.
3. Discussion on Color Wheel and Constructing Color Charts
4. About importance of doing value studies
5. How to create the illusion of mass and three-dimensionality through subtle transitions in value and color
