From liquid and high-viscosity paints to gesso, gel mediums, modeling paste, spatulas, brushes, and more, we’ll explore how to use these tools and materials to create DYNAMIC, TEXTURED, and EXPRESSIVE artwork.
Whether you work in oils or acrylics, this session will help you confidently select and combine your tools and mediums to match your creative vision.
You’ll discover how to CHOOSE and USE your SUPPLIES effectively through:
- Understanding the “when and why” of using different VISCOSITY of paints and their unique properties
- Using mediums like gesso, gel, and modeling paste to prep, build texture, and depth
- Selecting the right tools—including spatulas, brushes, and more—to achieve a wide variety of effects
- Combining oil and acrylic techniques to expand your creative potential

David Langevin’s dramatic renditions of the Canadian wilderness and his bold ‘tree portraits’ have become almost as familiar as the subject they depict.
