Join Mastrius Mentor Crystal Beshara for a LIVE demonstration of Fan Brushes Techniques For Better Landscape Textures!

Crystal Beshara is an internationally recognized, multi- award winning contemporary realist painter living in Eastern Ontario, Canada. As a young farm girl, she began documenting the details of her surroundings early, painting anything from wild flowers to horses and wolves.

Crystal’s lifelong experimentation with art has made her highly versatile. She moves easily between watercolour, oils and dry media. Her work is recognizable with its rich, earth toned palette and emotionally charged, rural narrative.

DON’T MISS this event as Crystal will demonstrate the capabilities of one her most useful and effective painting tools - the fan brush!  She will guide you to:

  • Choose the right kind of fan brush for your subject matter and style
  • Learn to hold, load and fling the brush to create more natural and spontaneous results
  • Use effective watercolour techniques for painting landscapes and vegetation such as trees, grasses and shrubs
  • Experiment with mark making and texture by splattering and dry brushing

🧑‍🎨 This demonstration is will be using watercolours, but is for ALL ARTISTS, at every skill level!

As always, bring your curiosity, your paint brushes, and your questions!

Meet Crystal Beshara

Oil | Watercolor

My rural upbringing greatly influenced my lens on the world. I use my artwork as an outlet for contemplative exploration of deeper concepts, reflecting on how I (and we, as humans) relate to an ever-changing landscape and environment. My subject matter is both a cathartic and documentative means to record a way of life that is slowly disappearing. It serves as a history of the people, homesteads, animals and the agriculture of this land. I want to illuminate subjects that sometimes can easily be overlooked. To transform the mundane into something beguiling. Most importantly, I want to share my passion with others so that these stories can be heard, seen and live on.
