Mastrius Master ArtistAfter high school graduation, #mastriusmaster DAVE SANTILLANES decided to see if maybe, just maybe, he could do what he dreamed and make a living as an artist. Packing up his car with his paintings, he hit the road, stopping at every mountain town gallery around Denver. Long story short, Dave didn’t receive the warm welcome he hoped for.
A full time painter now for over two decades, Dave’s work is easily recognized and admired for its simplicity, depth, and demonstration of both painting technique and vision. “My paintings follow the notion that if everyone’s shouting no one is heard. I use grays to allow other more intense colors to be heard.”
His work consistently earns high praise and elite awards, is published in leading art magazines, and hung in galleries throughout the USA.
And want it, he did. Between work shifts for the next almost 20 years, Dave dedicated himself to mastering the big principles of color and design until he developed his own way of putting down paint and left his day job for good.
